Spot repairs on hardwood floors

Hi all,

I have a new hardwood floor that I finished oiling with hardwax oil two weeks ago. But being a noob there are a few spots I'd like to spot "repair" if possible. They're not really damaged but there's a spot where some paint dropped that won't come off and I have a few smudges from the oil that I didn't clean quickly enough. I was hoping to be able to use my Rotex 90 to lightly sand those spots and rub oil back in. Does anyone have any tips? Is this a bad idea to begin with? Apparently they don't do the Vlies things for the Rotex 90, should I just use a cotton rag and rub the oil back in by hand? When I did the whole floor I had one of those white pads, kinda like a scrubbing sponge? Haven't been able to find something like that for the Rotex.

It probably sounds like I'm overthinking it but I'm a bit of a noob and don't want to ruin anything.

A green scotchbrite or a white pad by hand is what I would do.
