Squaring up a new Sliding Compound Mitre Saw

I recently purchased a new Makita LS1019l mitre saw and I wanted to square up (hopefully that’s the right terminology) the saw.

The way you adjust various saws will differ, but I though the methods used for squaring them up would be about the same.

I think Gary Katz used the same method (4-cuts) for tuning three different brands of mitre saws including the Kapex and Bosch.

I searched around Gary Katz’s website thisiscarpentry.com and found an article by David Collins called “Mitre Saw Tune-up”. It’s exactly what I was looking for.
