Nothing special easy to make, shaker peg racks, can be used for keys, coats what ever.
Easy to make buy the pegs, cut the timber 3 1/2" wide 18" long, marked and drilled the holes with my 1010' , used a bead bit in my CMS , then sanded ,stained the pegs with a combo of dark walnut as a base color then 2 coats of red mahogany, finished with shellac and a coat of wax. Nice and easy Xmas gift.

Didn't meen to hijack your thread

Just got a little exited about making Christmas gifts

Thought it would be cool to see what everyone else is making for Christmas

Nice looking stuff, I'm hoping to get started tonight on some gifts. One thing I would do for the serving trays, put the screws in deeper and cap them off with a dowel.

Going to make this board designed by my Russian friend Andrei at MTM Woods.  Already started getting my stock ready. It's going to make someone dizzy...

I am working on my own Christmas list.  Christmas 2014 that is.  I just finished a wall board for hanging coats and hats in the entrance to our son's house.  I have finished a serving tray for our daughter.  Also doing a chef's knife handle for daughter. The tray is all finished as far as construction, but still needs finish. I have the knife already to put the scales on, but trying to get all of my leaf cleanups done before Thanksgiving (of this year  [unsure]) We all be visiting daughter in Arlington for TG dinner and a few days.  I am hoping to deliver both presents on Thursday.

Next week, i will start on 2015 list.  [member=32795]VW MICK[/member], I would like to (try) copy your design of tray.  I have a few pieces of Cherry that I cut from a limb that had fallen from a customer's tree about 15+/- years ago.  I resawed one of the pieces into thin slabs to make cheese cutting boards.  Once i started resawing, i realized the wood could not stand using as cutting boards of any kind and decided to glue together to make a small serving board.  I made a tray with splayed sides like you have done for my Ex SIL a few years back, but i like the way you have done the handles.  I am thinking about dowels instead of screws.  Or maybe a domino in each corner.  Maybe let them stick out beyond the corners to give a little more rustic look.

I should have lots of time this year for making presents for 2015 and maybe even finish on time (As we say in the Orient: Nevah hoppen, GI )
