Okay, forgive me - I'm sure this info is all contained already in forums (and I've read through a bunch of it, thanks) but I'm trying to figure out what people's best guess is on the drill roadmap and availability in the US.

I see the Quaddrive but then I also heard that all the C handle drills are getting updated (true or did I hear incorrectly?)

Basically, I'm thinking of making the dive into Festool drills but I don't want to buy into a tool that's just about to be updated in the next 6 months and then kick myself.

It looks like the only model that's recently updated and unlikely to change is the CXS - is that right?

Thanks for the wisdom,

Anthony

P.S. I guess festool products don't get updated quite as frequently - but we could use something like the macrumors.com buying guide that offers folks a pretty good historical sense of product timelines and when to buy and when to hold on for 6 months.  Again, I recognize I'm comparing apples to ... but it might help as a sort of 'top of the list' sticky to tell you where each tool is in it's product cycle.

+1 on the CXS!

Whatever you buy more powerful later, you MUST have the CXS... It's an AWESOME drill!!

Great intro to Festool drilling.

Cheers,

Frank

I don't think the drill itself is going to be updated for the next 3 years, the C15 is very new. Only thing that's getting upgraded from time to time is the battery capacity, in Europe the C15 now comes with a 4.2 Ah battery, while on the USA website it mentions 3.0 Ah

I'm not sure they updated anything about the CXS, it's still the same drill as it was when it was just released, like 3? years ago.
