Hey guys, I was wondering what everyone thought about say getting a Jet 650 and this vs Festool vacuum? I'm not at a point of having a large shop but I could probably run the bigger one for awhile! Price wise the stationary might even be cheaper. I certainly thought about adding a cyclone to any Festool solution, or even using the SYS with Cyclone on wheels.

If I had a dedicated shop space I would simply get a big chip collector that airs outside when operating.

Tools I expect to be operating are just some Mafell saws, router (with and without table), Dou Doweller, and drill press. I'm sure the future will hold more tools but right now that's about all.

A DC is for high CFM.  The circular saw, doweller, and drill press are more suited to suction head that's provided by the festool vac/shop-vac class.  Routers straddle the two, but I lean towards shopvac for hand-held and even light table routing.

The main thing that causes me to switch to my small DC the most is the planer.  Miter saw stations (I mean the full hood deal) are better served with the DC as well - although I get by with the MIDI most of the time just hooking directly to the port and deal with the overshoot later.

The other thing is that the Jet 650, like most 1HP class DCs have only
