The steps into our kitchen were plastic coated mdf and the plastic was peeling off. So I made these out of oak I had in the shop. The finish is not my best but did not want to break out the spray gun.

Finish looks good to me.  Is the arc on the lower step slightly different than on the top one, or is that just an optical illusion from the way the wood grain on the lower step is biased towards the left?

It’s an optical illusion. I made the top step first and.  Copied it onto the bottom step. As long as you don’t look close you can’t see the finish issues. I’m probably a bit OCD when comes to this stuff.

I learned over the years that there is no real point in telling people about all the flaws of a thing I made (except in cases these could lead to accidents, death or destruction)... as happiness seems to stem from the absence of information, at least it seems to be like that for most humans that I know.

The thing you made looks beautiful, no need to doubt yourself.

Thanks I appreciate your kindness. And you are correct about the absence of information does bring happiness.
