Stiff systainer slider

I have the systainer that has an area at the top for small items (sorry, don't know the part name/number); see photo.

The green slidey thing to open it is very stiff -- nail-breaking stiff -- and thus hard to open. Oil would be messy; graphite dirty, silicon everywherey.

Does anyone know what needs to be done to make this smoother? Maybe dismantle it (how?) and shave off a micron here or there?

Not sure if THIS is available in Italy, but you might want to look for a dry lubricant that is safe with plastic.

Don't have any of the attic lid systainers, so I don't know if this will work for your application, but on my older classic systainers I found paste wax to do wonders in making the latches work easier.

Concur with Mike A.
B'laster 16-TDL Advanced Dry Lube with Teflon.
Big box stores, WM, Amazon.
Also comes in multiple varieties for different uses/materials.
Works great. Cheap.

B'laster Dry Lube does indeed ship to Europe (there's probably a home-grown equivalent, but even imported, it is cheap enough to not worry about it).

Thanks again!
