Store Demos

I happened to stop by my local retail dealer today and noticed a poster in the window announcing a FESTOOL demo on June 6.  Very cool I thought.  Talked to my regular sales guy and he confirmed that the demo will include all the new tools, including the Kapex.  (I already have one on order).

It occurred to me that if I hadn't stopped by this store, I would not have known about your sales rep's visit. Or worse, I would have discovered that I missed it after the fact.  It got me to thinking...

If FESTOOL strongly urged their reps to post here when and where they are having demos, they will probably see a greater turnout.  I'm in the Chicago area, I know there are more than a few of us FOG members in the area.  A notice of an event might even help us get out for a meet and greet with fellow FOG members.

Berlands in Lombard.  I don't know if there are any scheduled visits in the other two stores.  I'll call tomorrow and find out.

Dan, the Festool USA home page has an Events section, but I notice not all the dealers post their events.

Yes, some dealers are more "aggressive" than others.  And I mean that in a good way.  I'm suggesting that FESTOOL reps(employees) post here.  As I understand it, it's a FESTOOL company rep doing the demo.  It should be easy for the company to publicize it here.

Yes it's the store in Lombard, but not the old original..  It's on Finley and Oak Creek (Rd. or Dr.)  Just south of 38 (Roosevelt) and north of 56 (butterfield)  BUT!!! I just looked at my calender and noticed I wrote June 6 , which is Fri.  I think it was on Sat.  To be sure, I'll call tomorrow and confirm which day it is.

FYI, The WoodCraft store in Woodridge, IL, has a Festool company rep out to demonstrate the products regularly and help with any issues. I believe he comes the first friday of the month but it would be best to call the store to firm up the day and time. This WoodCraft store seems to have increased their stocking of Festool products over the past few months. The last time I shopped Berlands stores in both Lombard and Joliet earlier this year, they were a little light.
