Just curious what the pay rate in so cal is?  Thinking of a drastic move home.  I miss the pacific and my family too much, so a relocation may be what is needed.  My family is in the Oxnard/Ventura area, and I'm just not sure if the work is there.

Thanks,

Jon

I install cabinets in the Los Angeles area, and, from what I understand, pay varies quite a bit depending on the level of work.

There are guys making as little as 15-20/hr, though that seems to be the wham-bam-thankyou ma'am school.
Decent guys are making ~25
Higher-end guys are 30 and up, depending on who they are installing for and what.
I'm on the high end of things, but I also always work on fixed-price bids.  I am also fully above board with license, insurance, etc.  I even work in fully-finished homes or buildings, so we have to be super-clean.

Best of luck to you Jon!  That's gotta be tough to be distant from family.

Thanks Bob.  It's holiday season, so I guess its hitting me pretty hard not being around them (again).  Not that we're the tightest family. We definitely put the fun in dysfunction!

Joseph, thanks for the info.  I know people don't want to go around broadcasting what they charge.
