I've had my Supermax 19-38 for several years. Excellent drum sander, never any issues, easy paper changes. But their original infeed/outfeed tables were fixed so I did not buy them, just a less than helpful design. Now that they have the smaller 16-32 sander with folding tables, they finally made folding tables for the 19-38.

Easy enough to mount and adjust to level with the bed. I have extra crap stored under the sander so the table isn't folding down as far as it can but just having the tables and being able to make the footprint smaller is wonderful. The sander is pushed against the wall so I'm just showing the infeed table for demonstration only. I roll it out when I need to run it.

Product #71938-7F (F is for folding so don't confuse it with the non-F version)

Two buttons on each table get pressed in to drop them down. Can't get any easier.

Also decided to use the shipping crate for the Makita 118" rail to cut more sandpaper for the 19-38. I get the long rolls from Klingspor and cut multiples of each grit.

Saw this idea some time ago to have a magnetic marker for what grit was in the sander.

Do you find that the tables make much of a difference?  I guess if you were working with longer pieces.

I wonder if the tables could be adapted to the new version of the Jet drum sander 16-32 ( not the older model ).  Like you, I didn't like the tables sticking out, but really like the folding idea.  Space is a premium.

The tables help when running multiple pieces through. Extra length so pieces aren't about to fall off at exit and while loading more in.

Under the bed there are unused bolt holes on either side. So if your Jet has those, maybe the Supermax 16-32 folding tables might work for you.
