Surfix Outdoor oil for bee hives?

Would the Festool Surfix Outdoor oil be appropriate for finishing beehives? Continuos outdoor exposure - both summer sun, and winter cold/wet?

Also, can I use the polishing pads form the kit on the smaller ES125 ( just rim the pads smaller?) I don't yet have a 150mm sander.

I appreciate any thoughts.

 I've tried it over Cedar outdoors as a 1 to 1 1/2year long test against other oils and types of finishes. Like most oil finishes used outdoors, it's the UV protection that seems most lacking when compared to other types. The oil won't really stop the lignan in the wood from turning grey on you basically.
So, easy to apply, easy to touch up or reapply, but no where as much UV protection as some other finishes.
Shouldn't affect the bees, I would think, since it's low odor or out gassing.
Your smaller ETS will work just fine.

I make Top Bar bee hives. With all the Colony collapse and no one seeming to know the cause I use 100% PURE tung oil,no dryers. Just an alternate. MARK
