Before I go on....I hope this doesnt generate any anger....

I was simply curious at when Festool stopped putting stickers in with their purchases. I have purchases several thousand dollars in Green tools over the last nine months and as dumb as it sounds I really wanted a sticker! Haha. It just seems like an easy marketing campaign that also makes your customers smile a little more.

Have a great one

We've actually had several conversations this week about swag. We're looking at ways to expand our variety of swag and make it easier for people to get what they're looking for. Personally, it's something that I'm pretty excited about. Hold tight.

Swag originally came from bill graham presents production crew.stuff got left behind, valuable to some or most.but not worth it for production to transport or store.Stuff Without Any Gravity.things just kinda lingered around till somebody took it.
in todays economic situation, there is less room for waste.the meaning has morphed into Stuff We Ain't Getting. most tours or production no longer hand out t-shirts&items.
high profile stuff still gives swag, like oscar, emmy, vma, stadium tours&such.
the more stuff given away, the higher the profile becomes
anybody want a Justin Timberlake or Taylor Swift t-shirt.

  ADDED
I guess it goes back further,1800's,stolen goods, productions have always been good at changing things for current use

I have always thought Festool USA was missing the boat with their limited promotional offerings. T shirts, bumper stickers, hats, pencils, bags, golf balls ... the list is probably endless of the stuff they could put their logo on and offer to diehard fans.

In the mean time, [member=59186]dingram[/member], are you asking about the 'Festool Fan' sticker? I probably have one... PM me your address and I will check and send it to you if i do have one. Jeff

As I see that you are a dealer I can understand your apparent position, having said that, I do believe that it is a very low cost way to show a little customer appreciation.

For example: Here in the states Royal Purple is considered one of the best oils you can buy, and the price reflects that. They send a sticker with every oil filter you purchase.

Same can be said for countless other company's that see the benefit in FREE advertising through their customer base in addition to giving something back to the customer.

Probly more words should've been used.I was just trying to relay what swag is about.
In one of the many ways I earn money,my (non festool) .com,I give away a lot.sometimes exceeding the value of purchase by 100%. I think festool should offer free things&additional things at purchase.much cheaper than putting your name on something like staples center or home depot center or microsoft theater.

On my first festool purchases I was given a t shirt each time, I naturally thought this was a normal practice, boy were my work friends disappointed when I sent them all to my favorite tool store , sorry guys...lol
The store really appreciated it , they still give me a store shirt when I buy festool

I bought a installers kit at Toolbar, got a polo shirt, watch cap, bag and ice scraper

Yup ya got to sweet talk's and blow in their ear a bit... [scared] [scared] [big grin]
