Swap CT Midi hose tool-end connector with sleeved hose connector

I'm just starting to build my Festool collection for a small basement workshop, and started out with a CT midi and a few tools (sander, track saw, router). I purchased the hose with sleeve and plug-it connector as well. The hose that comes with the CT Midi has a different tool end, with an adjustable valve to release pressure when sanding - the hose that comes with the sleeved hose doesn't have this, so I figured I would just swap them, but they don't seem to fit (and getting the tool end off the sleeved hose seems pretty tricky). Anyone swapped these before or have good recommendations?
