Here is a short review of the SYS Box-1.
PIC_0061a.jpg

Here is a shot of the inside. This unit contains: 2 red (54 x 54 x 63 mm), 8 yellow (108 x54 x 63 mm), 2 blue (108x 108 x 63 mm) and 1 green (162 x 108 x 63 mm) compartments. The foam insert in the lid keeps items from migrating to other compartments.

I use this case to store my Kreg jig, pocket screws and plugs. It is perfect for this job.

The compartments are removable so you can take out just what you need.

The compartments also stack.

These things really are handy to have around, I can see myself getting a few more. One more thing, I would recommend you take a picture with all of the compartments in the right place so you can get them all back in if you ever get them mix up. Or you could save one of these pictures.

You can also buy just the Black tray and the colored bins separate if you already have a spare systainer 1.

Paul, I know you can buy the bin, but I don't think the black insert is available. Heres a link for the Bins.

You can buy the black on its own, but you will need the part number. If you call they will say its not available, but if you give them the part number you will get one. (447 337)

This is the Festool router bit case, SYS-OF D8/D12

As you can see from the photo, there is over 100 holes in the foam insert, but you can realistically expect to store between 40 and 60 bits (depending on the size of the bits) in this case.

I have 30 bit in the case now and still have pleanty of room for more. So far I've been real happy with this case. It is nice to be able to latch it to your router Systainer and always have the bits with you on the job.

Anyone knows the partnumber for the foam routerbit insert.
My supplier can,t seem to find it.

Hmmm, I actually was rather disappointed with the Systainer for bit storage as many of my bits are simply too tall -- I will be replacing the Systainer with the number 2 size.  Only problem now will be those labels...

brice,

is that a new top on your mft?  it looks so clean and only has a slight cut line on it!

shootk mine 1080 from january looks like a disaster, but my new mft 3 still looks pretty good.  the mft1080 I have been using on jobs so it gets more abuse.

I also use the colored boxes and they work great for wood screws and kreg screws..

You mean those labels don't fall off by themselves?  ;)

I have an extra Sys1 that I use for router bits - made my own foam insert, which I hate. Is it possible to get just the foam insert for the bits?

If you don't want to mix them up use a colored marker (paint, whatever) and trace the bottom so you have a visual indicator of where they go.  It's called shadow boarding.  Same thing people do when they hang peg board and trace around their tools.

Chris...

Kreg, I don't cut into my MFT top, I like new looking. I put a scrap of ply or MDF down to make cuts and paper when doing glues ups so the top stays pretty nice.

Hi Guys
I got the sys 1 with mfk700 promotional bit set but found it to short for larger bits so I took the foam and put it in a sys2 works great . The way to carry carbide

I don't see it listed in the 2007/2008 USA catalogue, but I would think it is possible at least as a replacement part.  Have you contacted one of the more knowledgeable dealers or Festool's factory technical gurus?  I would if I was in need of an insert.

The part number for the foam insert is 469147 for $19.40

I just ordered one today and a Systainer 2 so I can store longer bits.

I searched for it on a few sites by that part number alone, and could not find anything, I too need a place for my router bits, and would like to get that foam insert. Just point me in the right direction.

I searched for it as well in the online parts catalog and found nothing.

So I emailed Festool and that's what they gave me.
