This idea probably belongs in the 'festool wishlist' topic, however i will continue...
I have had an idea for the MFT lid systainer. Could it be possible to make, modify or adapt a CMS modular plate that can be dropped into a rebated MFT lid to produce a systainer sized CMS? I figure that one would have to swap the MFT lid onto a sys-3 or 4, whichever would allow an inverted Carvex, TS55/75, and if someone was truly inventive, a OF1010/1400. To construct a rip fence for the TS saws would be necessary, as would a split fence for the routers. I admit to be stumped on how you could construct a cross cut/mitre guide fence for either range of saw while restricted to the small confines that is a systainer. Any insights, notes, annotations, images, previously made versions, ANYTHING AT ALL to contribute would be amazing.

Thanks, Dundee

(notes; not looking to replace a table saw in terms of power or versatility, or workshop machinery. Just contemplating on-site installs when adaptations and edits are needed. i.e; Fillets, Bulk heads, mitred floor finishes, kickers ...etc)

Its been done. Google systainer table saw video. I've seen other designs too with TS55, router and jig saw somewhere.

Do you remember if they were interchangable like CMS? And is the table saw you refer to made be MIROCK?

Yes, the saw is by Mirock. Others were not interchangeable (actually one I've seen was). I've also seen ts55 as "permanently" mounted. All done by different people.
P.S. Genuine CMS insert fits into Systainer Maxi (not violating any rules, Seth, just saying  [wink], this is how it is stored BTW).

Mirock , and others are very creative and do some very well done modifications. No problem in that department. But please don't post videos, links or how to's of Systainers modified to be used as table saws and the like on FOG.

Thanks,

Seth

Wink-wink, nudge-nudge to festool then! Give us greenies a SYS-CMS! And I'm sure they could adapt the sliding fence I was talking about.

(Now this thread definitely belongs in festool Wishlist)

An older 'Classic' systainer fitted with the Systainer Extension can work well for this task.
