Hi guys

I've finally finished my sys ports.

Made from 18mm M.R.M.D.F including the backs. Pull out shelves are 9mm M.R and European quarter sawn oak. All edged in QS oak too

I have sort of copied the sys az drawer front. Which to be honest became a rather large job

All drawers are on blumotion runners (reclaimed)

It's all fitted around an old cupboard (saved from an office refit about 10 years ago)

I have added a new top. L shaped at the moment just because that was the size of the birch ply off cut, That could change

Finished with Morrells enduro. 2 coats sealer 2 top coat rubbed down in between

The end unit is on castors. So it can be moved out to my cutting bench

Now with pictures

Beautiful job you've made of that. Just what I'd like to do in my own shop, when time permits :)

A few more

Thanks [member=33306]richy3333[/member]

It has taken about 18 months to complete

Very nice. Did you spend as much time as I did trying to make all the Systainer drawers line up but the tools still be in an appropriate place rather than randomly scattered?  [embarassed]

Gary. I haven't really sorted them out yet it just happens I had those sizes. Mainly seems to be sys 2s

An heirloom project to be proud of for sure! Very nicely done! Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration of seeing what is possible.

Really nice job...especially like the custom fronts  [cool] and the Blum undermounts.  [smile]

What Doug said,
I'm still waiting for the paint to dry on mine. I thinned it with lacquer I don't think it liked that.

Very nice!  Does the roll around unit serve a particular task? I see that it has a cleaning set on it.

Seth

That's quite a project.  QSWO drawer fronts for Systainers.  You set the bar pretty high!

Thanks for sharing some really nice work.

[member=32795]VW MICK[/member]    Worth the wait, I especially like the oak fronts.
If you were to do this project again,  would you change anything in particular about this design or your processes.

[member=32795]VW MICK[/member] great job! I like the custom fronts. makes for a nice finish.

Two questions:

1. What does the rear lip/extension do for the drawer? Is it for mounting the slides?

2. Could you send me some pictures of your work bench? I like the domino pegs and MFT top with dog legs. I am on the hunt for a good bench design and I really like yours.

Cheers!
