I did a search but couldn't find anything on this.  I have the sysvac system including the pump and want to use it with a vaccum bag.  I understand I need some sort of fitting to be able to make the connection.  What would that be?  Seems like a no brainer to use the Festool pump for this.  I have an interest in doing some panel glue ups and veneering.

Howard, these are the fitting I've used to add QD to my hoses.

If you were just using the pump I guess you'd need the female, some hose and whatever connection goes on the vacuum bag side.

FWIW, the Hi-Flow air fittings available at Lowes & elsewhere are the same size, but not nearly the quality. I bought some but haven't used them so I cannot vouch for how they work or if they leak.

So is the Euro size fitting a standard size that would fit the festool pump?  I would need that on one end.  I would think what ever bag I get would come with a hose that would that and I would just cut off the other end and attach the one for the Festool pump.

[member=396]HowardH[/member] yes - the euro fittings match the outlet coming from the pump. This fitting will also fit the pump:

I added male QD to both ports on the clamp head that you see, and female fittings on both hoses. I can reverse the pump hose now if I wanted, it has the original fitting on one end and the euro female on the other. I made second hose with M/F fittings so I could use it to extend the original hose.

Hope that all makes sense.

PS - these were the exact fitting I used:

The barbs were tight in the Festool hose, I had to heat it up to get them in. Joe Woodworker has hose that works better, that's what I used for the extension.

Husky high flow aluminum air fittings work. I just bought a set and tested it.

Cool!  Looking forward to my first vacuum pressing! Where is the go to site for bags, etc.?

FWIW...just remember that the threads in the Festool products accept BSPP, also known as G-thread. BSPP is British Standard Pipe Parallel, it is not a taper pipe thread.

Here is the Festool QD coupling and Festool fitting compared to the black Husky Hi Flow fitting. Notice the straight (parallel) threads on the silver Festool fitting versus the taper threads on the Husky fitting.

Here is the business end of both of the fittings, they are the same & are interchangeable for use in the Festool QD coupling.

I needed the taper pipe thread fitting (black Husky Hi Flow) to convert a Milwaukee (Gast) vacuum pump for use with the Festool Vac Sys.

In this photo you can see the standard Festool fittings in the Festool products and because they have parallel threads, they seal against the white polymer seals.
