I picked up Systainer bit storage tray and want to remove one of the rows of bit holders to make room for longer bits.  I'm looking at the instructions and it looks like it says to push to the left and down or up but it's not coming out.  I don't want to break it.  Does anyone have better instructions or a link to a video on how to remove a row.

I figured it out.  I needed to remove it from the attic tray and then I was able to get the flexibility needed to get a row out.

While on the topic of these bit storage trays I must say that I'm really disappointed in them.  When inserting 1/4 bits they don't fit on top of each other without removing a row and they don't stay in place very good at all.  Every time I tilt the  attic lid back all the bits fall out making it pointless to use.

It sounds like you need to push them into the holder further. 1" (25mm) insert bits should have enough clearance.

I found that it is really, really hard to push them in and pull them out. If they are in all the way I can't imagine any chance that they will fall out. Even with Centrotec that have the corners eased.

Yes, I played around with it for a bit and they aren't falling out, at least not like before.  I might try to add some sore of magnetic strip to the bottom if I can find one that fits.

I'm captain early adopter on those specific bit cassettes and currently still using about 8 or 9 at the moment.  If bits are falling out, they aren't in all of the way.  They are very tight when brand new. How tight?  I've hammered the bits in to fully seat and used pliers to yank them out.  Soon, the TPE will stretch just enough that the fit will be just right.  But if you don't like them, you don't like them.

FWIW a Systainer 2 allows the extra room for longer bits and accessories. Not much seems to fit into a Sys 1. *shrugs*
