Systainer MFT Top Workbench

It might be worthwhile to remember that it was posted that he had obtained a patent on this assembly.  That might explain reluctance to sell plans or hardware separately.

Just a thought.

your probably right  peter but a reply stating that (or even just a fob off story ) would be nice. .i dought there is a worldwide patent as we would known about the product sooner as he would be trying to recoupe some of the colosal investment needed to get the patent.
can you not sell plans etc and still retain propety rights.

there is very little stoping me making some of these for my personal use only time. i feel there is some good benifits to this system as i could make up small tool stations for site use,(such as a jigsawcms type set up, router table, belt sander, pocket hole jig, etc)
i am only persuing this properly because i would like to give credit where its due.

I don't think 79 EUR is completely over the top and if Festool offered a Systand like this the price would be a whole new level. A new MFT top or some MFT clamping elements cost the same.

Although the idea is simple and many of us probably thought about it before, it takes a lot of time and money to design and manufacture a marketable product. Not to mention the cost for a patent.

The Systand looks very well manufactured probably high quality beech ply, CNCed and the hardware is a custom design. I don't think you'll be able to make your own version for this price if you include labour and you still need the proper hardware.

Anyway, I have ordered one and will write a little review as soon as it's here, probably by the end of the week.

great to hear that you ordered one.
cant wait for the review, they look very handy
if i was to make one i wouldnt be woried about it being exactly perfect .

to get one to my door  all in would easily be 150 euro. +any import duties.
i dont feel that at that price it is worth it.
if i could get the hardware and plan(only to give credit for the design) for 50 euro and make it myself it would be worth it

it looks a lot like mine, which was patented in feb 2010. check it out on www.diafer.nl
I know it's been a while but have you done a t-loc version?  Love it!
Probably. If you look at [member=11968]bror[/member] avatar there are two versions classic and t-loc.

Hi [member=45902]jdw101[/member] and [member=15585]Svar[/member]

See the T-loc version here:

and the story behind it on:

The T-systand is still in production

The original Systand is back in production since two weeks.
