Systainer Variations

This is an old thread, but for those who like to go Systainer-spotting, I found another company which uses them - Bessey. I noticed it in a printed Bessey catalogue that I picked up from a not-so-local Festool dealer who I was visiting on Friday.

The following photo can therefore be added to those shown elsewhere in the thread from Metabo, DeWalt, Makita, and Prebena. Bessey use it to hold a package deal of their KLI clamp range.

Hi,

Now that is slick!  Too bad the clamp length is limited though. Something along these lines to carry longer clamps (maybe broken down) would be great. I always find that taking long clamps to a job means extra trips to and from my vehicle.

Sorry about that - I should have given a link.

If this link doesn't work, go to www.bessey.de, choose English as a language, click on Clamping Technology, then choose Clamping tools for wood applications, then Lightweight clamps, and finally Show details in the section under KliKlamp set in systainer KLI-S.

The KliKlamp range has magnesium alloy arms for light weight, and there are  6 different lengths from 120mm to 400mm jaw opening. The KLI-S set in a Systainer consists of 4 each of the 120, 160, 200 and 250mm clamps, ie 16 clamps in total. With the clamps being so light, the full Systainer only weighs 6.5kg.

Bessey make a very wide range of clamps, including many I'd never seen before, eg a set for doorframe construction...

ain,

I just purchased two sets, thanks for pointing it out.  Great deal! Free shipping , no tax and if I buy two more sets and use an existing systainer I have I cut a substantial amount off the 515.00 US plus shipping and possible taxes you would have to pay for the kit shown above.

I only need the shorter 8" clamps it looks like the kit has various sizes I do not need anyway. So there maybe  savings there with the kit after all.

Thanks again!

Nick

Nick,
I purchased two sets also and am planning to buy a systainer to put them in.  I figured I could build supports into the systainer to hold the clamps.  I am going to keep an eye on the 12" also, maybe they will go on sale.  I just could not pass up that deal.

They also carry 4" and 12" here are the links.
4" Kliklamp
12" KliKlamp
I wish they had the same smoking deal on these as they did on the 8".  I would buy a set of each.  You can never have to many clamps!!

Hey Don T, I almost purchased 4 sets.  I just do not think I need that many more of the same size.  Someone could purchase those sets and resell on ebay for 24.00 each and I bet some people do.

What size systainer do you think you are going to get I could not decide?

Nick

They just reduced the price again down to 33.35! for four! I paid 35.11 last night! I had to buy 2 more sets! 16 for 133.40 is  great deal on those, I think you get like 4of the festool version for that price, Aren't they 33.00ea? Of course the Festools fit in the bottom of the rail slot and some other accessories, but I have plenty of those already.

I just bought two sets as well.  Nice find guys!
I'm thinking of letting loose my angle grinder on a couple of them to use on my MFT, I'll see when I get them.

Just a thought perhaps Matt(Forum Administrator)will consider adding a sub section within Sales Zone labeled "Screaming deals"  Hell post, Hanes long underwear if you find a really good deal on them.  Times are tough these days.

Yesterday I posted Forrest Woodworker 1 160mm Blades for 45.00.  Didn't last too long and I'm kicking myself for not buying more than one.

vteknical thanks for the scoop on the blade. I only wish the T 75 blades went for that price! Let me know if you do modify the clamps. I have 16 with the purchase tonight so I would like to modify some and will take any hints you an offer.

Yes a deal zone sounds great. Or we could just start a thread with the kllck clamp deal and we can add as we see them.

Back to this thread:

How are you going to modify a systainer case for them? Which case are you thinking would be best?

Nick,
I'm not sure if I going to put them into a sytainer.  I have a roll around clamp rack I built for all clamps.  This is just a hobby for me so I don't need to be that portable.  I'm running out of room on the rack so maybe that will give me a reason buy a systainer.

I can't beleive the price dropped that was already a great deal.  I should buy some more but wife told that what ever I spend on woodworking she get the same for scrapbooking, so It is actually costing double the price.

My session timed out when I was ready to post so when I logged back in it went to a new thread.
