I’ve heard from a few sources that you will be able to purchase the new systainers3, but there’s some discussion/scuttlebutt that Festool North America will not sell the inserts in America -NAINA? Bott will sell them in Europe, but it might not be available in the United States if your looking to upgrade to the newer front handle systainer cousin with rail groove.

I think this is the most compelling reason to upgrade so you just buy these cheaper side clips and neatly rack the systainer in a cart or mobile van/trailer shelf? The other thing I like is that the front handle will allow me to lock up my systainer3 tools in a Knaack box on edge and still be able to lift the systainer3 out of the lock box. I have empty space, nooks and crannies in the job box where I can squeeze systainers in the cubbyholes.

If Festool North America decides not to sell the inserts in the USA then users would be forced to purchase the plastic inserts in Europe and pay for the shipping?

Hi - What do you mean by plastic inserts?  You mean the custom trays for the different tools?

I don't know Festools plan for sure, but I believe they are moving their tool line up into the Systianer3 as needed.  Tanos is moving over to Systainer3, with some T-Loc sustainers (light grey and anthracite) being available for a while yet.  On the various Tanos inserts, they have been releasing variants of foams and plastic inserts that fit in both the T-Loc and Sys3 generation.  Some inserts are universal and in that it has all the slot/cut outs.  I imagine one could cut/carve any notches in the existing insert to make them work.

As to the rails, Tanos USA is starting to get in stock of rails that work with Sys3.  I've had a few for demo/trial and I hope to stock them soon for sale.

yes the custom plastic insert trays for the tools and the accessories so your kit is in one place. Rather than the tools all together and accessories scattered. I must say the systainers are good for organization, but take up lots of space. It’s a trade off... so I’m just curious if they will sell the tool inserts and are they backwards compatible or it’s a matter of making your own notices to fit them into the new systainer3?
