I received an email a couple days ago announcing this new site, systainersystems.com, which appears to be Festool. I'm making that assumption because on their website their location is Lebanon, IN which is FestoolUSA HQ is it not?

Anyway, I don't recall any discussion here about this but I certainly could have missed it.

Looks more like something from Tanos?

Yes, who doesn't need nearly 10 cm of foam below their ratchet??  8)

It's a new venture from Tanos. E-mail received from Systainer Store this past week:

"Tanos doing something big!
A preview for customers of Systainer.Store.
I'm a fan of systainers, naturally, that is why I launched Systainer.Store.  So when I get word of product announcements and other changes to come from Tanos, I just can't wait to pass it along to the whole community.

Tanos will be sharing some news in the next couple weeks.  In fact, what I can say is that you likely won't see Tanos as the forward brand.  Instead, you will see Systainers and Systainer Systems being the front and center brands.  One example, on social media the other day, I've seen the announcement for the launch of Systainer System's web site.  The new USA centric web site.  What matters is the Systainer, Tanos is just a name, a behind the scenes name now.

This isn't just a rebrand and a web site refresh.  Once I know more, you can bet I'll pass the news along.

As a dealer of Systainers for nearly four years now, I'm very excited for what is to come!  And I'm looking forward to continuing to serve you and the whole systainer community.  We stock over 300 unique products and accessories for systainers and will continue to bring new products and information to the community.

Make it a great day - Sys Tim"

As of right now it doesn't look that great/organized. I'm guessing it will just be a store front for Sys 3 stuff and associated accessories. If Tanos would actually price their stuff comparatively to what it costs in Europe I might actually buy some of it. It's criminal how much it costs in North America.

Good afternoon,
Keep your eyes peeled as something is new coming from Tanos and bott! I do not think anyone will be disappointed in what they see! more to come soon.

I want nothing from Bott, but to go away....

.. This is an expression I rarely use, I think it was two years ago now..

But here it goes Crazyraceguy: !LOL!

<<Please note:  bharkreader posted above.  His email indicates that he is associated with systainersystems.com.  I changed his profile to the best category I had available to indicate that posts from that account might be biased (that is not to indicate that they would be).  The category indicates Festool Dealer.  They are not a Festool dealer.

You guys and gals will get my intention - just trying to keep it real.

Carry on.....

Please, please, please tell us that the Bott nonsense has been ended and the stupidity of changing systainer heights to suit them has been acknowledged.  Give us back the T-Loc.

Yeah, I know.  Not happening.

More likely we’ll be seeing a Sys4 introduction.

Specs:  Handles on opposing corners, hexagonal footprint, 4”/10cm height increments and a new rail mounting system compatible with 19” computer equipment racks.  Optional Rolodex equipped lid and a fan edition slate and chalk holder, for easily describing the contents.

Available with the new 3 wheeled easy-tilt RB-Sys2.

A new list with continent-based markups and product exclusions  [drooling][drooling][drooling]?

A Sys3.2 where you can put in a card on the side  [drooling] [drooling] [drooling]?

A new set of heights for Sys3 that makes each systainer a multiple of a base dimension (let's say 52.5mm)[drooling] [drooling] [drooling]?

I wouldn't be too vehemently opposed to this, but I probably worked in IT for far too long...

I was thinking a line that fit the 19" rack system and adopt the height increments (44.5mm I believe = 1U) used by rack equipment too as new line not associated with Festool.

That was my point exactly. Festool need to forget that Bott ever existed and come back to the real users.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^

Tanos already have all of the injection moulding tools - why they didn’t keep producing them in parallel to the new boxes is a complete mystery to me and to many, many others.

I think it will be sufficient to get back to the "old" heights. None of the other parts of SYS3 are a show stopper.

Sure, T-Loc is elegant while SYS3 is "alien-spaceship-ugly". But functionally, the heights breakage is the only show stopper. For me at least.

Besides, there is nothing preventing Bott to keep using their non-system abomination - it *does* work for them after all.

Ya, the SYS3’s aren’t too bad.
What I find wrong, very wrong is that Festool didn’t stand up for the established heights.
If Tanos and others wanted different heights, that be it, even Festool if they needed just that height on a couple of tools or accessories.
Less wrong, but still wrong (on the SYS’ that DONT have a functional handle up front), is the locking top handle. It’s annoying that you have to smack it down hard to get another systainer on top of it. Therefore they could have left the handle fall towards the back.. again; for Bott vehicle racking. Mine’s are soon seeing a file.. very close and rubbing [big grin]

But, the 3 series is more substantial. The handle up front (even the “non functional” one) gives a point to grab even on the floor, in a regular shelf and so on, compared to the old T-Lock.
Some of the inserts for the tools are given a second thought and is a little bit more spacious for other tidbits.
In a stationary shop the Bott track (the straight wide one) can be utilised by just screwing on some thin rips of plywood to slide the systainer for storage instead of shelves.

I admire your commitment to honesty Peter - but there’s  nothing real about a contributor who joins the forum to place his one and only post because he’s the CEO of the company he’s advertising. You’d think that someone in his position would at least have a basic grasp of when to use capital letters.

Yes that would be very nice…it would then also work with the stereo gear racking that was popular in the 70’s & 80’s. Imagine this…an HL 850 mounted directly over a Crown DC 300A amplifier.

Noice…

LOL, not what I was thinking. I was thinking along the line of making use of all those rack panels out there to build Sysports out of. Still could I guess they would just be a couple inches wider.
