Hey guys,

Not a full review, more of a quick question. I've had my t18 about 6 months or so, after about four months the battery meter popped out on one side. Kind of an annoying little defect but none the less I wanted it fixed as this is no $99 dollar drill. So I box it up and send it back to festool and go just under 2 weeks without my drill, a rather large pain in the butt as this is my main work drill. I get the drill back a few weeks ago and all is good, until yesterday when I notice that it is popped out again! Now first time it happened I thought maybe I was a bit hard on it, and I admit I can be hard on my tools. But this time I was using it very lightly and certainly didn't drop it or do anything that could have caused this....so my question is has this happened to anyone else? And should I be sending it back for another repair and going without my drill for 2 more weeks or insisting on a replacement? I can't say I have a lot of confidence in this being repaired after the first attempt...thoughts? Thanks.
???

I did reach out to the OP to see about getting this taken care of for him right after he posted but haven't heard back yet. I also spoke with our service department manager this morning about it, and I want to share his comments. Please don't take this as an attempt to discredit the OP, just information about how the lens is installed.

"We have not been experiencing any issues with lens failures. It's odd that the lens is coming out because its installed from inside the tool and the opening is smaller than the lens."

So, it doesn't seem to be an issue that we're seeing. But, regardless, we want to get this fixed.

Well I will say that festool customer service is excellent....my new drill is on the way. Thanks for the help Shane.
