T-Loc with Domino?

Alex:

Does the new T-loc have the same voids, on the bottom, in the two back corners?

I have tried 4 different classic inserts in the T-Loc, none fitted.

I think your inserts can be considered as being "old" classic inserts then, because the newer inserts from the Carvex or Rotex 90, C15 and T15 fit very well.
I think i showed the T15 insert fitting in the T-Loc Systainer in my T-Loc Introduction Video:

T-LOC SYSTAINER INTRO

Below is a frame capture from Mikes video. It shows the void in the corners, you can see the new and the old. The older systainer is the larger void. The smaller void is the NEW Systainer. So the 10mm Domino on the slide out tray will not work like the it dose with the Classic Systainer.

And I don't like the twisting lock mechanism. It's uncomfortable and it strains my hand.

Btw, a Festool dealer close to me told me that the patent on the classic systainer was expired so that everybody now could make them. He said that this was the reason Festool decided to update the systainer to a model they could patent again. Is this true?

If my 3 year old can open these with ease I don't understand how they can hurt your wrist.  I actually have to be careful after he has been in my shop and make sure the lids are closed before I pick them up.

I think the T-locs are a great improvement over the classics.  They have a more rigid lid, are much easier to stack and the opening mechanism is excellent.  There is a learning curve with the 3 positions but after a week you have it dialed.  Just remember the leg of the T needs to face down for the systainer to be locked.

Kevin:

If this T-Loc systainers are not available in the USA yet how is you three year old playing with them? I want one to play with [sad]

Also should mention that Michael mentioned the issue of the T-loc systainer one not having enough space to unlatch the front latches from a under mounted classic systainer.  That is only the case with the T-loc Systainer I.

Someone mentioned that the T-locs tended to slide around when sitting on a classic.  While this is true, they are more solid than classics when sitting on other T-locs.  Also because the locking mechanism is so much easier there is no reason to not latch them when sitting them on top of another t-loc.  It takes a second and is easier than turning a door knob..

Systainer World

They have T-locs in I, II, and III.  I bought 4, and plan to buy more.  They are also cheaper than Festool systainers.

I do like the handle on the T-Loc. I don't like that the systainers themselves aren't square anymore. And I don't like the twisting lock mechanism. It's uncomfortable and it strains my hand.

How is the turning the one lock harder then unlatching 4 latches?

My one year old can get into a T-loc, 5 year old has no issues.  Heck I can spin it with my foot from a distance.

Hate to admit it but, the T-Locs are quite an improvement on an already great storage system.
