Just got in from work this afternoon to find a nice delivery all the way from the Netherlands. I've been sent a T systand (free of charge ;D) by Bror a member here to compare to the sys mft.

I will do a full review when I get time but for now here's a few pics. Thanks Bror (Rogier) for getting it to me so quick.

Look forward to you review. Have been eyeing up these tops for some time.  Cant decide whats more practical and a better price for the extra slots in the sides. Weight is also a very important factor.

Have fun playing,.

Before I begin let me just state that I bought the SYS-MFT from www.powertool-supplies.co.uk (nuts & bolts) a few weeks ago

The T SYSTAND was provided free of charge by Rogier at http://www.diafer.nl/

I've had the T systand for exactly a week now and had a good chance to try it out. First thing you will notice if you buy one is the craftsmanship, its very well put together. All edges are smooth and all joints are perfect. It looks very strong and I imagine it can take a lot of weight if needed. The rear foot that hooks to the next systainer is solid Beech and the front metal part that the T-loc knob connects to is what looks like laser cut stainless steel.

My T systand came with some spare stickers, a spare piece of beech moulding used to hook the rear to the systainer below and a spare metal part where the T-loc knob connects to. I dont know if these spare parts come with every T systand maybe Rogier can confirm this ??

I've decided the best way to compare it to the Festool SYS-MFT is to list all the various things i have noticed, some good things and some not so good.

SYS-MFT                                                                                                                    T SYSTAND

T-loc compatible & classic (but only on top)                                                                T loc ONLY (classic version available as far as I know)

Cannot clamp to sides easily                                                                                      Lots more clamping holes on sides

Fit to other systainers is exactly the same as any systainer (slight play)                  Fits absolutely perfectly with no movement whatsoever

The mdf top doesn't fully cover the systainer (there is some plastic)                        The birch ply top is ply all the way

Very light                                                                                                                    Heavier as its 18mm plywood

Internal storage                                                                                                        No internal storage

Rubber grip strip on top & V groove                                                                          V groove only

Can stack anywhere in a stack of systainers                                                            Can only go on top of a stack

Build quality the usual quality you would expect with festool                                    Excellent build quality, you can tell Rogier wants to supply a quality piece of kit.

Its been a pleasure to review both these portable bench's and I hope the info helps others in their decision on which one to buy, or you could buy both  [big grin]

Here's a few more photos for you.

joiner 1970, thanks a lot for your review.

The 'spare parts' were sent along for examination purposes only, it's not standard, they don't break.

Just a few questions:

Did you get around using either one for an actual job?
The sys-mft fits both classic and T-loc systainers, how well does it fit the classic?
What will be the effect of an accidental cut in the surface to either one?
how do you transport your tools when it rains?
Did you work the tops with a hammer?
How would you clamp anything to the side of a sys-mft?
If you want to customise your T-systand you just screw something on to it, supports, boomarms, extensions, etc. it's a base made for woodworkers.
How do you customise your sys-mft?
When one of my (T-)systands gets dirty I just sand them down, how to clean a sys-mft?

I did think they might be. It was good to see the separate parts to judge the quality.

Today I did a job where there wasn't much space. I used both benches, one on my midi and the other on a stack of systainers.

The only classic thing I've got now is my midi vac and the sys mft clips on to it with no hassle.

I've not really abused them yet.

You can't really clamp to the sides of the sys mft.

Both are customizable like you say. When I got the sys mft the first thing I thought was that you could change the mdf top for your own homemade one. The lid could be swapped to another bigger systainer too I'm guessing. That way you could even make a jigsaw table, router table , whatever.

Weather doesn't affect me too much as I have a panel van but I'm guessing your plywood tsystand is better in wet weather compared to the mdf sys mft

Just got some details on prices from Rogier if anyone is interested just PM him

The price of the T-systand is €62,- excl. VAT (21%, in European Union only).

For sales directly out of the EU there is no VAT.

Shipping to germany is €15,95 for either one, two or three systands
to Uk, denmark, France, that is : €16,95
to Finland, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Sweden that is: €27,95

To most countries outside outside Europe (world) it is:

€34,30 for one,
€58,30 for two or three alike.

I would like to see in side the systainer. How is the mdf attached?
Could you post more pictures please.

There's some videos on you tube I think might show you. The mdf top is just screwed from under the plastic lid which is stiffer than the standard lid too.

Just received my T-Systand from Rogier, www.diafer.nl and I have to totally agree with Joiner on this fantastic addition to my Systainers.
I purchased the T-Loc version and it fits like a glove on top nicely. Other than all Joiner has already said about this, I find it to be well made, thought out in design fantastically, and a great addition to my Festool World for sure.

Rogier I want to Thank You for this awesome piece of craftsmanship

Sal
