T12 Speed

Hi

I've just taken delivery of a T12 and a bit bemused by the speed setting. Is it normal that the speed changes when I switch between drilling and screwdriving setting?  The speed also changes in screwdriver mode when you change the torque settings.

None of my other drills do this so I'm not sure whether or not this is correct.

When you switch from the screw driving seating to the drill setting the speed will go up. In drill mode the torque settings are bypassed and full available power is given, whether in speed 1 or 2. When you are using your torque settings, the lower you go, the lower the speed will go. This is normal for every drill I've used.

Others will probably explain better than I did and use better words but that's the gist of it.

Thanks.  It doesn't seem to happen on my dewalt Xrp drill.

Don't worry it is supposed to do that, the lower the torque setting the slower the drill goes, the theory is it gives you more control when you are putting in small screws.
