T15 didn't make it

I had to get up early this morning (0530, early for me) and go do a small signage issue job along a commercial strip. Had to do it when there wouldn't be any pedestrians around. My T15 has hit the ground off of ladders or scaffold many times. Unfortunately it did not survive this mornings fall.
7' off of a ladder onto the sidewalk. Sucks. Can't really afford another one this time of year. The C12 will have to do for awhile unless I can find a T15 body.
Ok, that's all the whining I'll do.

That stinks. I'd call up and get a repair cost as well as a cost for parts. I've been really surprised at the prices for parts and repairs, very reasonable and the repair guys always sent my tools back cleaner then ever.

That sucks that it didn't make it.  If it was a Craftsman or something it wouldn't be so bad.  But it looks like something a little chewing gum and duct tape will easily handle.  [big grin]

Duh, I didn't even think of ordering new clam shells. Another plus to posting on the FOG; good ideas by people smarter than me. I'll probably have to send it in though. Even though all the wires look connected and I can't see anything detached, the drill doesn't work. Maybe a damaged trigger or something. I'll call Indy tomorrow and see what's what.

I sent my C12 in to have the shell replaced a few months ago. Service advised against trying to replace it myself. I guess there are quite a few little springs waiting to be liberated. Total cost was around $45. I got it back quick too  [big grin]

Did the same with my Panasonic driver, couldn't tell it was damaged tell the screw after the fall and the torque ripped it in half. I was able to get a tool only for $100, still have not fixed the first one.

I bought a holster for it soon after, belt hooks are great but if you do a lot of ladder work it's just a matter of time.

A few months ago about 10' up a ladder my holster caught on a board & dumped my T-15 (the safety strap wasn't snapped) -- it did about a 7-1/2 gainer and stuck the landing drill bit first into gravel.  No damage but now I make sure I snap the safety strap when climbing/descending.  [embarassed]

Did you snap the nose off also? It kind of looks that way.

If so, Festool Service would be, as you pointed out, probably the best solution. There's a lot going on in front (and back) of these drills.

Update: I sent the T15 in earlier this week for repair. Came home today and a Festool box was waiting at the door. My T15 is back and in perfect condition. So ...
