Hi
Is there any chance to store a T18+3 drill machine into a FESTOOL Systainer³ SYS3-COMBI M 287 - 577766 which has its top replaced by the top of a Festool Systainer³ DF SYS3 DF M 187 - 577347 ?

Technical data seems to say that would be nice but someone told me he failed to do it.
[edit] some new details : this guy said it could not fit because of vertical storage of the batteries
[/edit]

Any tip would be welcome before I buy some new Systainers.
Regards
Jerome

My T-loc era insert dropped right into a Systainer3 DF M187 without any hacks. I was getting it ready for sale, but I'm having second thoughts.

or I had the same idea!
I would like to do it with a TPC 18/4
I will receive it on Monday or Tuesday in SYS3 M 187

I would like to transfer it to a “SYS3 COMBI M 287 577766”.

And also take a “SYS3 DF M 187 577347” or DF M 287 577348

To recover the cover and install it on the SYS3 COMBI

I've also ordered an SCA 16 charger instead of the basic TCL 6, so I hope it fits in the box!

On paper, the trick seems to work, but in real life?

( Sorry for translate I'm French )

Christo -

The specs on the M287 SYS3 Combi show inside dimensions of 140mm x 398mm x 287mm

The M187 has inside dimensions of 146mm x 389.7mm x 275.2mm

And the two different tops should be almost the same, so I think you'll be okay.

I'm not too worried about transferring the M187 to the 287 Combi

What worries me is putting the DF hood on the 287 Combi and that it won't close anymore because of the greater depth, which is hard to store...

Just a general note (at least for specs on the gen3 ) .................. the inside height measurements do not include any of the space up into the lid.

They are also measured from the top of the bottom ribs. So in some instances, when not using a full size insert, an extra bit of height can be gained by placing items in the spaces below the ribs.

I don't know if the particular drill kit needs any of the lid space. But if the swapped out components do not need more than the 140mm, then it should work fine.

Hello FOG!

I've bought the SYS DF and SYS COMBI.
After receiving everything, I decided to try it out for myself!
So here's my SYS3 COMBI-DF M 287! First of its kind. Ahaha
Everything fits perfectly! The display panel too!
Unfortunately, I don't yet have my SCA 16 to do the supplier's out-of-stock test. But at first glance, it should fit without a hitch.

it's really cool, but I think it's just a bit heavy now. 8.3kg / 18,30lb

With TPC 18/4 + 2 batteries + 2 bitkasett + level in handle - Empty drawer

Now it's time for the photos!

Once the SCA 16 is inside, it doesn't close! I mean, you have to force it, and the cover stays on. As far as I'm concerned, the problem lies with the black plastic mold, which has the magazine too high up. The part would have to be reworked with the charger, or positioned lower... Too bad, I'm a bit disappointed! [crying]

Just cut out the outline of the charger in the plastic mold and fit some thin black foam sheet underneath to cushion it and "complete" the look?

Sadly, I just tried this with a CXS 18, just moving everything from the 187 - the insert and tools, but not the lid - and the lid will not close.  [crying]
