Tail vice advice

Hi guys

I'm building a muLti function workbench .and am in the process of fitting a veritas tail Vice (see below ) it's all fitted but the part that you screw the jaws to doesn't seem to be fixed .so when you undo it it just spins around

What am I doing wrong .any ideas appreciated

Gary this how it's fitted .when you undo it the jaw block just spins around

All the ones I have seen have some sort of physical/mechanical means for keeping the jaw in alignment.

You could put a leg across the front edge of the bench. End attached to the vice jaw, groove in the leg with a corresponding key in the workbench face.

Or a couple of guide rods on the jaw. Rods would be attached to the jaw then run through mated holes on the workbench.

 
It's a tail vice, but you are using it as a face vice. You'll need to add some sort of sliding rod to keep the face from rotating. You could also ask and see if the seller will let you exchange it for a proper face (aka front) vice screw set.

It's picture like this that make me get back to the workshop and work on my skills, damn that looks nice.
