Tanos is Here!! (or soon to be)

Systainers.com is registered to Tooltechnic in California, a good sign that it will be the name of the North American website.

Tanos.com is registered to some guy in Greece.

Hi,

I can see the posibility of the items costing substantially more. Especially if not everything is stocked in the US, and needs to be special ordered.  I am willing to pay a little more. Which is why I have been trying to put together an order  for Kofferfun shop.  Part of the problem for me is deciding on a whole bunch of stuff at once , rather than one systainer project at a time. That coupled with having to make a big lay out  all at once makes it difficult.

I am looking forward to Tanos becoming available in the US, and really hoping that it will not take years to set up.   In the mean time I am going to slowly continue with my own plans  just in case.

Seth, you are confusing me and also making me think maybe you want to reach bankruptcy? You are looking forward to the possibility that these may cost substantially more?  :o ::)  8) Fred

Fred,

I have now modified my post to make more sense.

Yes, I can't wait for the price to go up so that I can go bankrupt sooner. ???

Sheeesh, the grammer police ::) :)

      Just for you Fred (the smiley king)--      :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8) ??? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-\ :-* :'(

Seth

Seth, Seth, Seth, to be truthful, this would be more along the lines of a smiley king. :) ;) :D ;D :o 8) ::) 8) :o ;D :D ;) :) You see you really want the smiley ones and not the sad or angry ones.

Also, now you have taken away my fun with the grammar, oy what is this world coming to I axe you?  ;) Fred

i'm looking forward to these!

(especially the small parts trays that stack inside the #2 and #1 systainers)

Tom,

The cartridge insert you pictured in you post is now even better. This one...

...was a bit rubbish - the top frame kept falling loose, stuff got stuck, etc., so they updated it, and it's now a single piece insert, made from expanded polystyrene foam. I can't find a picture of the replacement one,and mine's out on site, but here's a piccy of the similar spray-can insert (the cartridge one has more (smaller) holes:

has anyone ordered from the german web page? i am thinking of making an order and was wondering if the shipping cost is per weight or item? if it is by weight than i can get a bunch of stuff for one price. O, i am in the los angeles  area if anyone wants to put together an order to save on shipping let me know.

hmmm, I'd consider it.

When's the next time you'll be at starbucks?

Hi,

It is shown as by weight.  If you click the shipping info  it will give you a choice of countries and then the prices per 20kg.

tallgrass, monte:

I have dealt with Kofferfunshop before.  Good guy to deal with.  Both orders went smoothly.

Now that there's a North American alternative on the horizon, self-importing just makes no sense.  Shipping is 63.80 EUR per 20 kg to the US, Canada, or Australia.  If you can buy direct from a NA distributor, you'll likely save enough to buy another Systainer.  Or a lot of lattes.  8)

Ned, thank you for the feedback.
Any idea when the sun will come up on that horizon ?

well i just got off the phone with the man who is going to be distributing them in na.l he is a very nice and it was a pleasure to talk to him. however i think that it will be in the next year before we get to be able to order from him. i might be wrong and misunderstood him , but he his looking to to sell to companies and is looking for outlets ,not orders from individuals. i could be wrong ,and in the long  run he might be selling to individuals but i am going to move forward with  putting together an order. so thoughts???

Hi there JRB! You're right, I remember a few months ago seeing the updated insert, these are mostly images I saved almost a year ago.

To my mind, the most useful products we haven't been able to get here are:
  • The Sortainer with 2 large drawers, a medium, and 2 small ones.
  • The inserts that make the Mini Systainers actually good for something.
  • Colorful latches.
  • The Maxi Systainer that is not as deep as the one we have here.  I think it would work well for a Sawzall or small rotohammer.
  • The deeper Mini Systainer.
.
Tom, I have the angle grinder insert.  I think any 4-1/2 inch grinder would fit.

2 concerns:
  • Will the hanging folder frame accommodate US Letter-size folders?  If not, it's not hard to make a frame.
  • Will the cartridge carrier accommodate our sealant/caulking tubes?

Ned

Yeah, I'm not sure if the hanging folder frame would accomodate standard US letter-sized folders. I'm just intrigued by the idea of storing documents and paperwork right next to my tools in a systainer. As far as would a cartidge carrier accomodate our sealant/caulking tubes?... I'm not really sure about that, it sounds like a phone call or e-mail to Kofferfunshop might be in order! If not, I suppose I could just make my own. There's a nice foam store near my apartment, I suppose I could pick up some, say, 3" thick foam or styrofoam, drill it with appropriately sized hole saws and then cut it to fit inside a systainer....... hmm, maybe I'll just do it anyways?...... Anyways, good questions, I hadn't quite considered those!  ;)
