Just wanted to give folks a heads up that Lee Valley is showing limited stock available on the Tanos Racktainers for $209:  http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/page.aspx?p=70166&cat=1,43326,64664  A lot more palatable than the $500 Festool one that's been on eBay for the past couple months  :)

I placed an order for a couple of these in early January and they were backordered at the time.  The due date was pushed back a few times with the latest date being today.  My order status is now showing "in stock and reserved" and if you go to add them to a shopping cart, it shows "Mail Order - Limited quantities".

So, if anyone's looking for one, it's probably best to jump on them before they're gone.  Then again, with my luck, Festool will probably do a re-release of their limited edition versions :)

I have a Festool Racktainer that I purchased a couple of years ago when they were available in limited quantities from a couple of dealers.  I think I got it from ToolTown here on FOG.

I just ordered one of these Tanos units.  They are really well built and offer a lot of flexibility in the individual box sizes as well as a tight fitting and locking lid that doesn't let hardware shift from compartment to compartment.

Highly recommended if you like Systainer compatible products.

I have a Festool-branded one. When I do marquetry projects, it's configurable slots are fantastic for the multitude of pieces you pre-cut; also that the contents of the compartments don't mix is great.  If you do any marquetry or related projects with zillions of small parts, get it.

How heavy is the Racktainer?

Mine just arrived and I weighed it:

So, the answer is that, empty, it weighs a little more than 6 kilos.

Just to clear the air- no pun intended!- I didn't order any systainers, just some regular woodwork stuff. And top marks to your customer service team who replied only 7 minutes after I placed a request for a special order, and only 20 minutes after that with a quote for the item in question.

Ann Frisch and Andrew Moore were the respondents. Outstanding service, thanks!

Thanks Richard - I'll make sure their supervisors get your comments!

Rob, you should make it free shipping on any items that will fit in a (purchased) systainer!
