Tanos Systainers in customizable color configurations - where to find them?

I found a UK site -- http://www.systemcontainers.co.uk -- that sells Tanos Systainers  in customizable color combinations. Since I thrive on color coding when I organize things, I'd love to order some color-customized systainers. But I can't find a US (online) retailer that has such a service. Does anyone know a US based retailer -- or at least one that will ship to the US -- that sells systainers in customizable color combinations?

p.s. - sorry if this was asked and answered... I searched the forum but was not able to find anything.

I'm pretty sure you can't get them in the USA. Sorry!

That is a disappointment. I suppose I can pay (heavily) for a parcel forwarding service to get some if my color coding obsession becomes too strong to control. Thanks for the information.

You can also do a quick search on amazon.com for Tanos systainers under (tools and home improvement) There are quite a few options for different color t-locs and handles. It seems our color choices for the actual systainers are limited to Anthracite or White, but it adds enough difference for me.

Plus it's all direct from Amazon so you get Prime shipping!  [big grin]

You can also get black ( actual black not anthracite) from Lee Valley. They have yellow handles and latches but those can be swapped out.

Last I looked (about a year ago) there wasn't anyone offering the assortment in the US. But like you said, if you're willing to pay heavily for shipping you can get them, I wasn't that interested.

is it just me or do others find the combination shown above in carmine red, blue and green really tacky?  did they get tommy hilfiger to design the tanos spring collection?  actually it looks more like those benetton ads from the eighties.
boy, am i glad i don't have the obsessions i often see mentioned, what with the rainbow color plastic boxes and the customized 3d printed latches and the limited edition dingle dangles.  on the other hand, to be perfectly fair, i'm sure i have more than my own share of vises.  and clamps and--ha ha, you see what i did there...

Thanks Brett and Seth. I was just about to reply to Brett (but was side tracked for a bit) that I had found that Lee Valley carries the different colored latches (five colors). So between two different container case colors (possibly three if the anthracite is enough of a difference from the black) and five colored latches, I can get a good start. I also found different colored handles at MySystainer.com. A bit pricey at $17. Obviously the handles aren't "useful" as identification when the systainers are stacked. But can be useful as a secondary indicator when unstacked (i.e. to indicate a subcategory for example).

With all that, I can do some initially color coding. Still... it would be sweet to have the colored systainers themselves since they would be a good indicator from any viewing angle and from the distance. I may have to waste some hard earned money on the shipping - lol

@teocaf - I just picked some random colors - the red green and blue - when I took the screenshot. (The image changes as you make your selections.) And yes, that particular end result is a bit tacky. You can mix and match to your hearts content. Or where you referring to the particular shades of each color? i.e. that that particular shade of red is tacky?. And yes, the ... um ... need to color code is a disease at times - lol But then I look at people that are obsessed with collecting spoons and have to wonder ;) Like you said, we all have our quirks. (and I liked your vises & clamps joke)

You might also want to check with Lee Valley and Woodcraft (mysystainer.com) and see if they can add what you want onto their next order from Tanos.  Will probably be a bit of a wait, but only you can decide if it would be too long.

You can get them from Kofferfunshop.

They will ship to the US. I was about to place an order, but I couldn't get the web site to charge me the correct shipping (at least what I understood to be the correct shipping based on email communication with the company.)
I finally decided that custom colors just weren't worth the cost to me.

Let us know how it goes.  [smile]

I'm pretty sure that Seth has ordered from them in the past with good results. Maybe he'll pop in here and confirm that - or tell me that my memory is foggy at best?

Yes, I have ordered from Kofferfunshop twice.  Good results both times. Shipping on first order took about 7 weeks. It was large order (see picture)  that was only economical by surface. I don't remember details on the second order.  My communications with the Kshop were very good.  At the time due to the exchange rate, and no VAT,  the prices (including shipping) worked out to not much more than I would have paid I the USA for similar items. A couple things were actually less. Not sure how the price would work out now.

FWIW, it looks like the prices from Kofferfunshop are approximately the same as US prices. For instance, a sys 2 here is $70, whereas they are $72 from Kofferfunshop for a custom color configuration.

I tried various combinations of systainers and it looks like shipping starts at $70 - BUT you can ship multiple Systainers for that price. For example, you could ship EIGHT Sys 2's for $70. That works out to $8.75 per Systainer, which seems VERY reasonable considering they're coming from overseas.

So, if you want colored Systainers and are wiling to buy several at one time - and wait for them - Kofferfunshop seems to be the place to go!

Thanks Julie! A quick look seems to indicate the shipping could be tolerable for a large order. Definitely would not be worth it for a single container. I'll have to crunch some numbers see if its worth splurging for some colored ones (and also compare it to using a parcel forwarding service with an order from the UK site... although it looks like Kofferfunshop may have more color options ). Thanks again.  [smile]
