Hi.  Am in UK, & there's a TDK 12CE-NC on eBay.  Festool here says they 'think' it has electronic torque cut-off.
Everyone seems to think it has electronic 'clutch; but nobody seems to know for definite - like 100% . Maybe early ones were mechanical??
Have googled but no joy - but do now know that first C- series drill were electronic (if I understood correctly.)

Can anyone throw light on this for me - and maybe thoughts in general about the drill.

Great site. Been eye-balling for over 12 months.  Only took me a couple of days to realise (sorry word-checker) realize how to make a post  [big grin]

I don't know about the UK but our first electronic clutch came on the T 15+3 or T 12+3.

Welcome to the forum.

The TDK, nor the pre-LiIon C-series drills, do not feature an electronic clutch. Your TDK has a mechanical clutch.

Were you just looking for clarification on the type of clutch or is there a problem you're trying to solve?

Tom, the drills are the same here as in the UK.

I think that the C-series drill before the LiOn, with the EC-tec motor, did have an electronic clutch. Not 100% sure byt close to 99%  [smile]

Ok, unless there are UK-specific drills, which I'm pretty sure there aren't, it's a (edit) electromechanical clutch. Here, the easy way to tell is if you drill beeps when the clutch engages, it's electronic. If it makes a ratcheting sound, it's mechanical.

The ones we have here are mechanical.

Edit: After some brief consultation with my buddy, Rick, it's technically a electromechanical clutch on C12. The TDK is strictly mechanical. My apologies for the slightly incorrect information.
