I went to repair a wooden fence that my dog Saffire (see avatar) broke. I got my TDK12 out of the barn with the battery in it. I drove a couple of screws and it died [sad]. I went and got the other battery out of the charger and plugged in the dead one. Went back out and the drill died again. Went back to the barn and the charger showed a red light, I swapped batteries and it again showed red. The temp in the barn was 37 F. I brought the charger and batteries [mad] into the house and plugged it in, again a red light with both batteries. I unplugged it and left them on the counter for an hour or so and plugged it in again this time it started charging; a couple of hours later I swapped batteries in the charger and charged the second battery, I tried the first battery and the drill sounded fine [smile].
Has anyone else encountered this? I don't know offhand what ambient temperature operating range is stated to be by FESTOOL but I would think that it would be lower than 37 F.
