Template routing Festool copy, rings or Leigh adaptor.

I'm getting setup for template and hinge door hardware routing. I was wondering if using the festool set of 7 rings that add up to around €60 or getting the Leigh adaptor with the brass copy ring set which comes out to about the same price is the way to go? The  Festool system when using the OF 1010 would require recentering the copy ring every time you switch sizes with the Leigh adapter it seems to me you would only need to center it with one of the bushings then you could quickly switch sizes for inlay work..

What system works most smoothly?

I see you have an OF1010 and OF2200.  If I were you I'd probably go for the brass guide bushes.  But if you had an OF1400 I'd say go with the Festool bushes because they are so quick and easy to change.

I hope this makes sense!

Thanks for the Quick replies! It seems to me the Axminster set with the leigh adapter is the Way to go then..I'll also get at least 30 and 40 mm ring for use with the MFS and that handy anti tip dohicky

I went the same way: Leigh bushing adapter and the UJK set. But that is mainly cuz i got me the Axminster dovetail jig. If i had the MFS , i'd probably go with the FT guide bushing..

the need to re-centre on the OF1010 with the Festool option every time would make me go Leigh without another thought.

Centering isn't really that hard - it's just yet another setup step.

Because I have the OF 1010 I'll get the Leigh adapter and UJK set, but to use larger bits with MFS I will get the 24,27,30 and 40mm festool copy rings that work with the anti tip foot so best of both worlds. I might eventually get a second OF 1010 to improve workflow if I do a lot of template/guide bushing work.

I agree it's important to eliminate impediments to workflow speed.

With my 1010 I use the center gadget to hold the copy ring in place while adding the screws.
No need to tighten the nut for that job and it takes 3 seconds to fetch and plug it in and another 2 to remove it and put it back to where it belongs.

I don't know how often I would have to install copy rings to make the axminster thing worth the money. Should I come to the point where I would have to do it several times a day I would more likely get another 1010 to have one ready for that particular job (and completely skip the time to prepare and afterwards restore it back to 'normal' use).
