I have seen this site a long time ago when looking for work top jigs! Thinking of buying the Festool Worktop Jig. Well Im thinking of buying a worktop Jig again and came across this website again so I thought I would put it up for discussion on FOG.

http://www.chippyshop.co.uk/

This site has woman standing next to Jigs and work tops  and I dont understand why this Website owner thinks this would increase sales.

Oh she is FIT I am going to buy this Trend Worktop Jig just because she is standing their  ???  Maybe if I was to click buy she would come in the post with it.

If he had a shop I think I would turn up to have a look around.

Should ask the owner of the website to have a demo letting them girls show us how to use the jigs

What's wrong with a little fun?  Provocative women have always been a part of promotional tool calendars.

Walnut top is pretty cool.  Was there birds on that site  [blink]

Like Neil said, just a bit of fun  [thumbs up]

I kinda like the cherry bottoms tops... [embarassed]

Seriously: if the worktop patterns in the "high quality" variety are even a bit above average, that price is a steal !

Yeah but my problem with that site I cant find where it is located and they haven't got a contact number and I hate sites with no contact numbers.
Cant trust sites like that. Every site with no contact I have used have been a pain for contacting  you send a email and dont get a reply for hours or even days and its always been week befor I get the item I orderd.

So what I am saying is you properly wont get the work top or takes weeks or it comes damaged so just not worth getting into.

So if any one uses it done blame me because I linked it to this site I didnt link it because its a trustworthy site only did it cus of the girls!

Yes, I looked for an address too, with no success. In the UK, it's now illegal for any business organisation to not list their registered business address on their website home page. Not a lot of people know that, and no-one seems to enforce it either. Of course someone may want to enforce it, but without an address to send a letter to......

I didn't know it was Illegal not to show an address but I never use a site with no address any way because if worst comes to worst and I don't get my money back or I don't receive what I ordered ill be going round personally to sort it out you know what I mean! but even then really they could put a fake address up.  This is again a reason why England is crap where it matters they not enforce things but when its health and safety or stupid human rights which is ruining this country they jump all over it. They got their priorities wrong here in the UK

Well I learnt something any way. If I got time might see if I can send the website some where for it to be reported.

Still, it might be legitimate. Might just be a bloke that's trying to market the products of his nice homebuilt CNC machine, VERY knowledgeable on the technical front, but not so much on the commercial front.
Tucked away in his basement trying to perfect his CNC portal router.... Might explain the somewhat-less-then-functional female assistents as well....
And the price would STILL be a steal !

It's not an entirely new concept to the woodworking/tool community either: Think woodshopdemo's nice assistants.
Over here there's a nice reseller of all kinds of powertools that shows videos of "Naomi" demonstrating some tools in the line-up.
Naomi's videos
You'll have to speak Dutch to grasp the rather obvious ambiguity in her comments on the tools at hand, but I'm sure you'll catch the drift.
Let's just say that a CT22 doesn't need a reference to "suction power" to be considered - the Hitachi clearly does.
Still, it's a nice company, very good customer relations and I've bought from them to full satisfaction ( and that was NOT meant to be ambiguous, thanks a lot ).

The internet has supplied small entrepreneurs with possibilities to cater to a potentially large audience.
The average small privately owned business won't have the means OR the needs to invest in a professional marketing plan.
So these things pop up now and again - I must say I actually like it: it's kind of refreshing between the very-effective-but-a-bit-bland marketing efforts of the big professional companies.
And quite matter-of-factly: it gets them exposure so it can't be all bad, can it? I must confess, as a small business owner, I might be a bit biased.... [embarassed]

Haha, Naomi's site reminds me of HotForTools.com, where Erika shows off some tools and techniques.  Actually, the similarity is striking (as are Naomi and Erika  [tongue]).  In the case of HotForTools, it is a side site put up by ToolKing.com and sponsored exclusively by them.  So rather than mix it up on the ToolKing site, they built HotForTools, but you can always use "Erika" as a free shipping code (so they can tell you liked the site  [wink])
