Only a couple of months remain before the introduction of the new CT 26 & 36 in the U.S. and Canada.  Granted, there are members in other parts of the world that have already posted about these products.  But, what questions do you have that I might be able to answer? 

Let's started a consolidated thread of Q & A's about these new products.

PS - I have to apologize that I don't have those products added to our website yet.  Hopefully, they will be on there very soon.

I suppose the obvious question is how they differ from the current CT22 and CT33. Are there any promotional videos available?

Rich, biggest differences in my eyes ARE:

More suction power (not much mind you)
Larger capacity
Self cleaning bags (bags are cloth so this should also alleviate any ripping)
Integrated hose garage (saves you $40 that you would be spending in an accessory)
sleeker and sexier design
Hose is in middle of the unit, this means tug on that hose and the vac will pull towards you.  The 22 and 33 had the hose off to the side.  Pull on that hose and the vac ain't rolling to you!
Cord wrap is on top half of the vac (don't have to unwrap it when you open the vac to change bags)
Wheel lock is smack dab in the front like the midi and minis

Those are my BIGGEST keys.  Feel free to add guys

On ebay, about 50 bucks less than you paid if you haven't treated yours like I do mine.  Ebay may actually result in a profit.

I think that if you look at the history of these Festool tools, you would have to admit that they keep getting better with each new design. That isn't necessarily, or even normally, true of most other tool companies lately. There have been several years of redesign for most of them to accommodate moving the manufacturing to Mexico or China. In the process, a WHOLE lot of pretty good tools were dumbed-down. Sometimes it was to compete on the shelves of big box stores and sometimes it was just bean counters in control. The result has been largely the same, lower quality.

Shane has answered that question before, I can't locate the post with the partnumbers at the moment; but I believe the majority of the parts is the same, except for the push-handle and the bracket that attaches that handle to the vac. So you would only need to buy those parts to be able to use it with the new vacs.

Will the Boom Arm from the CT22 fit the new CT 36?

Brian, yes it will.  However, you will need to add an additional support bracket for the boom arm (496780, $31.00 USD).  There is also a different assembly used to attach the CT handle which I do not see available separately.  So, you would also need the handle (495802, $74.50).

If you don't already have a boom arm, I would recommend the boom art set which includes the handle, bracket and boom arm (M0114, $350 USD).

Brice, all the info us dealers have implies that they won't have 20 count packs when first launched.  I do recall Brian mentioning that they would though, so it may be an oversight in the documentation (Shane can let us know) or just a packaging update scheduled out a few months from now.

Festool do make versions with sensors - In Europe, what you know as the CT series is actually called the CTL series. Then there is the CTM series, which monitors the airflow. Once the airflow reduces below a certain level (either by the bag getting full or a hose blockage) it sounds an alarm.

They are not cheap though - the CTM26 is approximately 35% more expensive than the CTL26.

Does Festool have a policy regarding how long superceded models are supported?

For example, any idea how long I'll be able to buy CT-22 bags?  Or replacement parts?

I know they will be available for a some time to come;  I'm just wondering if there is a defined policy, such as support the obsolete units for 5 years, or something like that.
