HELP !!!
I thought I was in a good place .. planning something nice. Insulated, framed with inner and our skin (weatherboards). Gable roof (corrugated iron) at 30o and 900mm wide, 1100mm long, plus 400mm front verandah (decking timber) with roof over. Overall height to top of pitch 1200mm. Spare marine ply for inner lining and coat everything in a marine finish for protection.
If you're interested in the planned colour scheme .. grey corrugated iron, light blue weatherboards, white facia and detail, oiled deck (Merbau) and clear finish on interior ply.
Then I did the right thing and laid out the dimensions on the ground for my wife to "be comfortable" with the project.
What a mistake [crying] [crying] [crying]
BTW, the intended resident is an 8 year old labrador (Holly)
My wife wants it to be "much wider so two dogs can sleep in it" (news to me) ... but that throws all of the scale to the poo farm [sad] It'll look like a weird playhouse instead of a traditional kennel. I started to lose it when she said "I want the veranda to be a lot bigger too" [eek]
I know there's no such thing as a golden ratio for dog kennels, but I'd appreciate it if anyone could share their successful kennel build experiences.
Metric or imperial is fine [wink]
