I guess it can be done on a router table as well.
 
I recently saw that same video...and then I saw one from Stumpy Nubs where he called it half-half-half, because the setup is always half the thickness of the wood (Katz uses half inch in his video).

Use slot cutting bit rather than straight bit - much faster. Obviously cutting orientation of your pieces will be the reversed (flat / vertical).
 
Thanks Mario that was interesting. I like the 1/2" thick bottom option especially for heavily loaded drawers that will just sit on a flat surface and be used for storage.

I did notice though he never mentioned, nor did he show that the front and rear of the box will have a pair of 1/4" x 1/4" square holes poking through.

True, but he is a finishing carpenter and in most of not 100% of the cases he will use a front drawer to hide it. For the back, no one see it  [wink]
