The search for the perfect workgloves

I am searching for the perfect (OK, merely adequate) work gloves for woodworking and general home maintenance. Would like the fingertips of my index and middle finger to be free, and the rest covered. Ideally made of thin material with some padding in the palms and over the knuckles. I have tried some Home Depot carpenter gloves but after a few uses they were smelling horribly

Now I am trialing these gloves from Home Depot (all fingertips are exposed, so not 100%). What are your recommendations?

Atlas gloves are my go to for scuba diving, white water kayaking, tree climbing, brush clearing, caving, digging, and any other materials handling. The pair I use for water sports is completely different than the work pairs I use. For caving I use an insulated pair.

The work pair are fully washable, just don't dry them in the dryer. They need to fit tight, so buy the right size. I find most people buy gloves that are too big. I wear a medium as I am average height and weight at 5' 10" and 165lbs. You can simply cut the fingers off as needed. If they get damaged throw the glove(s) away *shrugs* The traction is great which is why they work so well for running a chainsaw in a tree while climbing with ropes. Dexterity is very good, as in no problem tying shoe laces, or starting larger bolts by hand, etc.
