The SysBENch - Workspace + Storage

While looking for a good solution to storing my systainers, I also wanted additional horizontal work surface. While most systainer storage solutions (apart from tossing them in the attic) were good enough, they didn't provide anything other than a cabinet storage offering. I also didn't want to spend more than I had to on materials given how expensive sheet goods are at the moment.

So I decided to design my own solution. The design works so well for me that I ended up building 3 SysBENches and plan to build a 4th in the coming months. I've made a video on how to make them and provided premium plans on my website for purchase ($10). Measurements are in metric and imperial.

Given the depth, if you had built custom drawers rather than sys-az, could you have put Systainer two deep, frequent in the front and infrequent in the back?

Yes, there would be enough space for two sustainers in a drawer. The real question is whether you can find drawer extensions that are long enough to pull out that far.

And, you would have lost your knee/leg/feet space. That said, I did my custom drawer unit with 14" full extension slides and came up with a couple different configurations of stops so I can secure any generation of Systainer...I have some of each.
