I love my 3rd hands by FastCap. I have set of four in a carry case. They are are great for holding top cabinets in place. Creating a plastic wall for lead removal. Also to create a water barrier around a wet saw and many more things.
3rd Hand has a useable range of 57" to 144"
I was installing some underground garage storage boxes and tried to use the 3rd Hands. The storage boxes were 4' x 8' x 2' made out of 3/4" ply with a 2x4 frame. Built to hold a ton above $100,000 cars. The boxes were about 175lbs. the 3rd hands could lift it but they had to come into the boxes from the front and were causing the water sealant coating on the wall to be scared when lifted by the 3rd hands.
In comes the UpperHAND it has a range of 28" to 60". The unlike the 3rd hand that has flexible pads that adapt to the angle they are at. The Upperhands have fixed end that hold the polls straight. The benefit is that you can lift straight up and not damage the wall.
I don't agree with their ad that this is a one person job. Okay maybe one kitchen cabinet at a time... one guy...but the image of putting up a three to four contented cabinets... not a one person thing.... well if you build then out of balsa wood maybe...LOL
That said...what is does do is allows me to get just a a few minutes from a crew member to lift them on the UppperHANDS get them level and then with a couple of screws in the crew member can leave and I can finish install.
They really do fill a gap from the 3rd hand to the Little hand. I don't have the little hands as reveriable clamps do it cheaper as I already have them.
Get the case it is worth it.
