The worlds first decent Corded Brad Nailer (WISH LIST)

An electric corded Brad Nailer. Why do these not exist? I don't need the power and speed of air nailers in such a product, but I would like it if anyone made a decent mains powered brad gun. I would be happy for it to be a bit slower and limited to 40mm etc

Everything I've found is cheap, lacks power and jams all the time almost every time! I've read good thing about the Maestri ME 606, but it's limited to 20mm brads and the manufacturer says 5mm ply is the limit.

There seem to be several 18v options that work well enough according to reviews, despite not being comparable to air. Where are the corded options? I hate having to take a compressor because I might want to shoot 10 brads on an install.

I feel your pain, sometimes there can be such obvious holes in a manufacturers line-up and you really wonder why it's not filled.

Festool's never gonna help you out here, that's for sure, nailers aren't in their line.

But for just ten brads, there's always the good ol' hammer.

Thanks Alex. I was doing my occasional google search to see if anyone is yet making what I dream of. On fining they're not I thought I'd have a rant here. I'd love festool to release apparently the Only Decent Corded Nailer but I realise it ain't likely to happen. I posted partly in hope that someone might illuminate me on a product I didn't know about?

[member=22067]mrB[/member]  I had an old Craftsman one 20-30 years ago.  Didn't use it much, but I was surprised at how well it worked when I did use it.  So I guess it can be done.

Yeah I agree as  above. There are a lot of great options.

Milwaukee 18v (new version) is well reviewed and liked.

Dewalt 20v has great reviews.

Ryobi 18v even this $99 special has been serving me well for over 1 year.

There are also very well reviewed cordless compressors such as the Dewalt flexvolt.

Lots of options out there!

Don't know if it's available where you are, but arrowfastener.com has a few options for 18ga corded guns.

I can see a couple big reasons:
Noise
Size

My brother in law brought his cordless to a job - he is thrilled with them. I thought they are big, bulky, heavy, and LOUD compared to my plain old air guns. I can easily see why one might want an electric unit. Could be even smaller, quieter, and more compact than air.

Yes Southrider makes several good points as to why I don't love the cordless options. For lots of pinning on a big job or any pinning in my workshop I'll use my compressor as nothing really compares. But for the occasional smaller use, I would love a truly reliable, if slightly limited electric option.

I may one day buy a cordless, but it seems like the good ones with batteries will set me back £4-500 and given my dislike of their size and the size of systainer this would require, coupled with the inevitable degradation of batteries, I'd much rather a decent electric with it's cord all wrapped up in a sys1.

It must be possible to produce one (like the many that exist) that actually works reliably. I'd pay 3-4 times the cost of the typical £40-£120 the existing options seem to cost..

Look at the Grex battery powered nailers. They have an 18g and a 23 g. I have both of them, and I keep them in a sys 3 with TWO other regular 23 g nailers.
They each run on two AAA batteries and small CO2 cartridges

I'll grant the size part but noise? Paslodes are noisy as they are combustion based but I have a Hitachi 16 gauge and its very quiet, same as the De-Walts.

There is just not much of a market for them or they would be more popular. I think the cordless electric one's will get smaller and lighter as time goes on.

I have both the DeWalt Flex-volt cordless compressor and the little one gallon Senco corded and both are good for portability with a short hose and regular air guns.
