that tool is just a hammer drill right? not a real "impact driver"…

Yes its what is known in the uk as a combi drill. ie drill / driver with hammer action for light duty drilling into concrete/ masonry.

Got this email recently, now what is next

TI 15 Impact Drill Driver - Discontinued

Posted on Friday, October 17, 2014
Effective December 1, 2014, the TI 15 Impact Driver will be discontinued. This affects both versions 564525 and 564526. There is no planned replacement for the TI 15 at this time.

Units in the field, as well as remaining inventory will enjoy the full benefits of the Service All-Inclusive warranty, including 10 years spare part availability

Sounds like Festool is phasing it worldwide now, not just in the uk. Good job i ordered mine last night.  [big grin]

That is really unfortunate that they are phasing it out. I reckon there will be units floating around for some time anyways..

I would love to pick up the TI 15 before it is phased out. I see the kit for sale here for 442 euro's with two 15v 4.2 batteries.. It would not be bad, those batteries will work fine in my Carvex and the PDC... Hmmm

I guess if they are phasing it out it's just too expensive when there are so many similiar offering out there.. But for me when I'm building up a Festool system, I just don't see the benefits of going with the other brands.. I'm also a Metabo user and have their 10 V reciprocating saw but I just don't think it's festool quality. I've handled their 18v range, and they are substantial, but also they don't feel as sleek, or as well thought out as the Festool drills..

I guess I'll be doing some serious rethinking of my spending plans, though I am definitely going to go ahead with the RO 90, I may just wait on some of the abrasives, and the Sys Roll and put that money towards the TI 15 before Dec 1st..

The two 15v batteries will work in the 18v tools, and my Syslites when I get them, perhaps I'll pick up a C15 at some point too...

Maybe the Ti15 will become a collectors item  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

I don't doubt that many Festools will become collectors items, but then they have to be pristine, unused, and an unused Festool would be such a waste!

I'm warming to the idea of getting the T-EYE impact kit with the two 4.2 Ah batteries, but don't understand why the Jacobs chuck with conversion built in isn't included in the package..

It does.. Well, mine did. Perhaps they have since taken it out

This is what comes with the kit I'm looking at:

Scope of delivery
• Charger TCL 3
• Adapter TI-FX
• CENTROTEC tool chuck
• CENTROTEC bit holder
• bit PZ 2
• 2nd Battery Pack Li-Ion 4.2 Ah
• Einsatzbox 49 x 98 x 71 yellow
• Einsatzbox 98 x 147 x 71 green
• In Systainer SYS 2 T-LOC

I guess it's not such a big problem as I can put the Centrotec chuck on the T-EYE 15 with the adaptor T-EYE Fix, as I bought a bunch of Centrotec bits when I bought my PDC 18

It could be the Centrotec Chuck is the Jacobs Chuck with adaptor, but I don't see it in the product picture..The Chuck with built in impact to drill conversion is named: Festool Bohrfutter BF-TI 13 and costs 48 euros..

I have just had a look on a few of the UK dealers listings that have stock. They list everything in your list, again no jacobs chuck though.
