Ti-15 Video by Paul Marcel

Im pretty sure ive seen it on Fog some where    well I have seen the video before any way.

I like how Paul explains the difference between the Impact drill and Hammer drill as to many people even on FOG dont know the difference
I find it is more people from the USA who are confused between the two  a lot seem to think they are the same.   Sorry USA its true though! [tongue]

Hey, JMB, some of us do  [poke]

When I was in mason contracting biz, i had a big Milwaukee hammer drill.  I also rented several different sized hammer drills for various demo jobs.  The Milwaukee could bust thru concrete block or brick with no problem.  Hilti made a much heavier one that I often rented for breaking thru a concrete floor where it was not necessary to rent an air hammer and compressor.

haha, LOL, I like the questionnaire.  Also know I'm too tired to pass the quiz :)  Have a bad deadline for Oct 31 and by then I'll look scary enough to not need a costume  [eek]

I hadn't posted the video here yet.  Wanted to leave it on my blog for a couple days then post it here, but I left for WIA'12-Pasadena before posting and honestly forgot :) mea culpa.

Thanks for the compliment, James, and for posting this Peter.

Paul, thanks yet another great review.  And your explanation of the difference between a hammer drill and an impact driver is by far the best explanation of the two that I have ever heard or seen.  Now, finally, I understand.

Your explaation is so good that I posted links to your blog  an a couple of other woodworking forums (Canadain Woodworking and Family Woodworking).  I told folks who are not interested in Festool (yes there are such people  ???) to skip ahead on the video to location 3:45.

I also like your comment that hardened steel is different than toughened steel.

Great review, P-M.  Looks like this guy goes on my list of items to be acquired.

[smile]

Can the chucks for the CSX work with the TI15?
Is there a TI18 or plans for one in NAINA soon?

Thanks -

Christopher

Sorry, the CXS has a unique chuck connection to the other drivers for the corner chuck. The Centrotec only chucks will ofc work.

The Centrotec chuck and the Keyless, Jacobs-style chucks will both work. Like Reiska pointed out, the Right Angle chuck won't.

Question Explain each drill type

Answers below:

Impact Drill    = One of the settings on my Hilti...

Impact Driver = Something my Bosch does.

Impact Wrench = Something you throw when the d*mn bolt won't come loose...

Hammer Drill = Another setting on my Hilti...

Percussion Drill = Something my son's marching band does before the field shows...

Great review, Paul...as usual.

It was nice meeting you at WIA-Pasadena two weeks ago and thanks for your demo at the Bridge City booth.

Nice meeting you, too, Scott... met a lot of online people over there; just like last year except this time West coast people.

I like fritter's answers the best  [big grin]

Hi Paul,

Liked the review, just a quick question: can the C 12 ni-mh batteries be used on the Ti-15?

Yes, they can. NiCad, NiMH and LiIon batteries from 2005 and newer can be used with the exception of CXS batteries.
