does anyone know why this drill might stop spinning and make a noise like it's wining? i'm guessing it's malfunctioned and needs repair but wanted to see if anyone else had similar issues before going through the drill of contacting support.

First, welcome to the FOG.  I have two TI15 impacts, one since they were introduced here in the States, and I've never heard of this problem.  I'd guess its broken.
