Tiling in a tub, tub doesn't meet the wall?

That is sexy Tom!  I have looked at the octagon carerra marble before and didn't pull the trigger.

Thanks for sharing. Looks great as usual!

Cheers. Bryan.

It was not an easy layout. The hall wall was pinched 7/8". I had to trim the marble borders to make it work.

This is one option. There are lots of options. Membrane systems work very well. Tools to work with it are pretty cheap too.

Ah, the Kerdi board might be best. Price wise it isn't much different since the membrane is $100 a roll, if I can get both areas done with two sheets. But there isn't much for pricing online. I'll have to look locally.

I'll get it figured out. The floor is a bit late for the schluter stuff.

A waterproof membrane of some sort would be the best practice but you'd be fine just taping all the joints, corners and tape from the bottom of the durock to the tub deck. My tile supplier sells a waterproof membrane from Mapei that I can buy by the foot. It feels like a thick rubber backed felt and has a peel and stick adhesive on the back. I cut that into strips and do all my taping with it. It sticks very well to the tub deck and bridges that gap permanently. Obviously don't let it stick out further than the tile.
