Time for extractor, Auto Clean for woodworking

Hi

I'm looking to get a festool dust extractor. 26l m class should be sufficient.

I don't really need the auto clean feature. However, I'm really interested in being able to clean the filter with that external green lever without even taking the filter out of the machine. Was wondering if you have to purchase a midi/mini for this feature or is it available for the 26l as well.

Just use bags, and you'll never have to clean the filter. My old CT22 did have a filter-raking lever, but I never had any use for it (I did have to clean the filter on that one, everytime a paper bag got damaged, but with the fleece bags for the ctl26 I haven't had that happen)

I'm thinking whether I should invest a little bit extra for a ctl 26 with autoclean feature.
I only do woodworking. Does anyone feel like it was necessary for him?

I have the new mini with the self clean feature that I believe functions similarly. I use it often when the bag is filling up and suction starts to drop. It always gives the vac a little more suction back after use. 
Mostly it will be the fine dust from sanding that clogs the filler bag when woodworking. It’s not necessary but if you’re interested in keeping the suction levels as high as possible when the bag is getting full it def send to help.

I have the UK version so its a CTM 26 autoclean.
I bought it expecting to maybe do some drywall but I'm  a carpenter so realistically just never use that feature.

The Bluetooth remote however is one of the best things to have on an extractor and allows the machine to work with bluetooth enabled saw batteries and also to work with other manufacturers tools.
I bought the remote and module as an add on and have never regretted that at all.

Strictly woodworking, not at all. The autoclean unit will come with a filter that isn't as good for wood dust, open bags instead of the fleece filter bags, and a hose designed for their drywall sander. You can put the regular Festool HEPA filters in (just turn the autoclean function off) or a newer AC HEPA filter. You will want to get fleece bags for wood dust since they will clog the main filters otherwise (despite the self cleaning). And the more useful, snag free hose that comes with the normal unit is better for small woodworking tools. The drywall hose I've only used to hookup to stationary equipment like a miter saw.

Unless you see drywall or concrete work in your future, go with the normal unit. You'll not only save $125 on the unit, but an additional $300 in not needing to buy the right filter, bags, and hose for your needs.

TIL there was a CT 26 AutoClean, plus apparently an AutoClean "RenoFix".

Both are NAINA, of course.

It might be helpful to get clear answers if you don't mind posting your Country.  Different Festool vacs and different model nomenclatures exist in different countries.

Just another thought...I've been cutting cement board & Hardie board with an HKC & a TSC. I know others on the forum cut stacks of drywall with their track saws.

It all depends on the quantity, I just use a MIDI because the numbers are small.
