Some gripes for someone who owns the TKS 80 as the Festool product.
I bought TKS 80 table saw in September. After receiving the tool I immediately noticed that the lamination on the fence is not dead straight at the bottom. See the photos below.
One one side the lamination disappears from the bottom.
On the other side the lamination protrudes a little.
This isn't too much problem if the fence is used at the regular position. But if I want to use the bottom side to cut thinner material it will definitely affect the accuracy of my cut. Anyway I contact the Festool customer service and they agreed to send me a new one a month ago which I still haven't received yet.
I recently bought the LA TKS 80 stopper which is the full length rip fence. This time the problem is even more serious. The lamination protrudes the aluminium profile by 1 - 2 mm.
Fence used at taller position
Now if I want to flip it to do thin material, tightening the fence will tilt the bottom of the fence, making it impossible to register against the fence.
Fence used at lower position
Has anyone else also noticed this problem? Or am I wrong to assume the fence can be flipped around to use for thinner profile?
