Tom Gensmer reviews the Vecturo Oscillating Multitool

Am I the only one here who's amazed Festool of all companies didn't include DC with this? My Gen1 MM makes such a tremendous mess I only pull it out when nothing else will do. I've seriously considered buying the current MM kit just because of the DC shroud (which is priced independently at a level that will make you stare).

+1
Solution - under 250 including cost of systainer and has a light, it's cordless and works amazingly well
Cons - no dc and it's not green

Fein sells a dust collection accessory for the SuperCut that will work with the Vecturo. To use it, you'd need to remove the collar that allows you to use the various bases, and it only works when the blade is straight out from the tool body. I tried it out years ago on an older SuperCut, it kinda sorta worked, but wasn't worth it.

I'm sure that Festool took a crack at the dust collection issue, though I'm sure they ran into the realization that the very nature of the tool defies any sort of built-in dust extraction. Ultimately, you're best served by using a hose next to the blade, or one of the many vacuum accessories for SDS core bits....

Holding or laying the hose close to the blade works well for most of the cuts I need to make.
